Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon May 9

Central Minnesota's own marathon, the Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon, will be held by the St. Cloud River Runners on May 9. Approximately 150 runners from 18 states, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan will run 26.2 miles on the bike trail from Holdingford to St. Joseph.

According to the River Runners, the best places to spectate and cheer will be at the Holdingford, Albany, Avon, and St. Joseph Trail Facilities. The race begins at 7 a.m. at Holdingford High School. The runners head east to join the trail north of the Holdingford Trail Facility and will pass the Holdingford Trail Facility from approximately 7:10-7:20 a.m.

According to estimates, the lead runner will arrive at the Albany Trail Facility about 8:10 a.m. Most of the runners will pass between 8:30-9 a.m. The lead runner will arrive at the Avon Trail Facility at about 8:45 a.m. Most of the runners will pass between 9:15-10 a.m.

The lead runner will finish about 9:45 a.m. at the St. Joseph Trail Facility. Most others will finish between 10:30-11:30 a.m.
